    The S9 is an S5 ii in miniature for video shooting. Great! This lens, however, is useless for video, since you cannot put an nd filter on it, whatever its other characteristics. I am eligible to get the lens for free. I am willing to sell it brand new and untouched for $100. Any takers? Btw, the Sigma 45mm f2.8 is the perfect kit lens for the S9. It was given away free with the S5. I am not selling that.

    Could you please provide information on whether there is any option in X2 to mark clips with a marker during recording? The idea is to use the MARK CLIP function, just like in previous versions of reporter cameras. This way, the "good clips" would be visible when importing clips into Adobe Premiere Pro. Please help if anyone knows how to do this.

    Hi Richard, I'm a Fuji shooter, X-T5, I have the original Fuji 10-24mm and am interested as to how this 10mm TTArtisan compares. For your info I shoot a lot at the 19:9 aspect ratio (easier to compose and crop to X-Pan), so the vignetting might not be so critical for me. Any comment you might have for this comparison or even one of the 9mm now available. Regards.

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong 2 дні тому

      Yes if you shoot 19:9 then vignetting might be very minimal. Oh what is the 9mm you are referring to? Is it the 7Artisans 9mm 5.6?

    • @geoffhoward2171
      @geoffhoward2171 2 дні тому

      @@TheRealRichardWong I thank you for your comment, I was not thinking of any specific 9mm, if one came to my mind it was probably the Laowa Zero-D. I must however admit to an error I meant to say the 16:9 aspect ratio, which is as close to 65:24 (X-Pan) or my calculation of 2.7:1. There are so many 9/10 mm lenses about now, it is not easy to select one as I do have the Fuji 10-24mm asking the question is it worth getting a prime at that Focal Length.

    It is not about how the camera looks, it is about how the photo images look, a Camera is just a working tool.

    • @cameralabs
      @cameralabs День тому

      It is a tool to be sure, but if you don't like how it looks or feels, you won't have the same emotional attachment to it, and for me, I'd only then use it to do a job, rather than using it for pleasure too. I have several cameras that fall into one or the other category. Some are great at a job but I don't particularly enjoy using them. For many people, a camera is as much an accessory as a tool, even more so in some cases. I'm inspired to use some simply from their looks rather than their actual results. I realise you don't fall into that camp from your comment, but be aware that others do.

Nikon/Nikkor Lenses from the 1970´s and the 1980´s is too much up and down in quality, some are really good, but some are bad, Canon FN and FDn Lenses are much better overall.

    Please clarify one important issue. Is the final stabilization using a perspective correction of S9 better than S5ii? Is this something new or does S5ii have it too? Or it added in the new firmware? Is it worth buying S9 because of the it`s unique stabilization?

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong 2 дні тому

      S5II also has the perspective correction with the latest firmware. S9's image stabilisation appears to be the same as the S5II. There are some good reasons to buy the S9 instead of S5II (like PDAF at 1080p60 full frame), but not for image stabilisation

      I do not have a Sigma zoom lens to test, but i'm pretty sure it will work with Sigma lens. Re the LCD, it's hard to answer as it's really depends on the person that uses it. @@TheRealRichardWong I need an easy workflow cam for YT content and my wife wants a small easy cam to capture memories with the kids. Think the lumix s9 will be perfect

      @@UpgradeLemonade As long as you don't need to record a single video clip continuously for 10-15+ minutes, then the S9 should be great choice for you.

    Hi Richard, Thank you for this comprehensive video! Can I ask you to clarify whether or not focus confirmation works on the ZF using the TTArtisan 6-bit and a non-CPU lens? I am looking at purchasing an M-version of the Thypoch Simera and the ability to have focus-confirmation / trap focus is a must-have for me… I’m not a fan of punching in or using focus peaking…

    Very much appreciate you doing the side by side comparison with the 26 mp sensor. I too was very skeptical about Fujis decision to go to 40 megapixels.

    Thanks for the great review. I felt a little burnt by the GH6, but the GH7 seams to correct most of my issues. I noticed on the GH6 that auto ISO steps in video. It is not a smooth transition to high and low isos like my Canons. This is very annoying and I wounder it is user error on my part. If you shoot manual video with auto-iso, are the iso changes stepped or smooth with the GH7?

      I've returned the GH7 to Panasonic already, but just playing with the GH6, ISO does jump but i notice the footage actually seem to transition smoothly when going dark-> bright or vice versa. I even tried play it back frame by frame and it seems the transition is quite smooth? I don't recall there is any special settings for it. But maybe if other viewer know a bit more, please help :)

      @@TheRealRichardWong Thanks for the reply. The funny thing is that I never really tested the actual footage! I saw the transition on the back of the camera, decided it was unacceptable for my work and shot manual scenes without much change in exposure. I sold my GH6 and ordered the GH7. The canons are nice, but once to get use to histogram, level in viewfinder, full size HDMI and all the customizable button (even the "near focus" feature is great-which I didn't think I needed with canon's awesome AF but have had a lot of situation when with would have help). If the ISO transitions in the playback are smooth, I am going to feel really stupid for not looking into this more closely!

    Glad I bought the Viltrox 85 Z. I wouldn't go as cheap as the Astrohri too much image compromises. Good video Richard.
